Empowering Children and Youth

Little Steps, Big Impact

Our Story 📃

Hello, my name is Vivian Tran, and I’m currently in Grade 12. I founded Growing Spoons in Grade 11 as my Capstone Project , a project driven by my passion for supporting children and youth and my goal of becoming a pediatrician.

Growing Spoons is a youth-led nonprofit dedicated to improving the well-being of  children and youth. We raise funds to support young people in homeless shelters, hospitals, as well as families experiencing food insecurity.

I know that many challenges young individuals face aren’t always visible. That’s why Growing Spoons takes a holistic approach, providing essential items, creating uplifting cards, and bringing moments of joy to those in difficult situations.

As a volunteer-run organization, our mission is to make a positive and lasting impact through wellness, compassion, and community care. We strive to empower young individuals with the kindness, support, and resources they deserve to thrive.

We are Growing Spoons

Growing Spoons is focused on building a healthier community by supporting the health and well-being of children and youth. The word “Growing” represents the expansion of awareness while “Spoons” symbolizes the nourishment of both body and mind.

We chose pink as our nonprofit’s colour to reflect the quiet strength, resilience, and hope of children and youth. Pink carries the warmth of compassion, the courage to seek support, and the belief that every child and youth deserves to be nourished, cared for, and treated with dignity and love.
